Now this Video Converter uses Mobile Uploader included in the this Video Converter installation package to upload the files to your iPod.

Step 1: Download and install this Video Converter Click here to download it. After the download is finished, run the VideoConverter.exe file and follow the installation wizard instructions.

Step 2: Run this Video Converter and select your input video file To select a video you would like to convert hit the Browse...button next to the Input File Name field. In the opened Windows Explorer Window browse for the necessary DVD folder. Note: when your input is a DVD Disc, you will need to select the path to your source file: X:Video_TSVideo_TS.IFO. "X" stands for your DVD-ROM or the hard disk drive folder where your DVD is stored:

It is usually safe to select the IFO file, rather than VOB file, because the IFO file contains the information about the entire DVD structure and this way you will avoid audio and video de-synch problems when converting. Also, most DVDs have several VOB files (files with actual video) and if you convert VOBs instead of IFO, you will have to merge them afterwards, which is not the case with the IFO files.

After you have selected the VIDEO_TS.IFO file click the Advanced button. Normally the program will select the longest DVD title that usually corresponds to the main movie on the disc. You can check that clicking the drop-down arrow near the Video -> Track box:

If you prefer to convert files that are located on your hard disk drive, please make sure that you copy not only VOB files, but IFO files as well.

Step 3: Set up the conversion parametersAfter you have selected the video input file, press To MP4 button on the main panel. In the list of Profiles (MP4 Profile Field) select one of the offered iPod profiles. You can also click Edit Profile button to manually set the iPod profile parameters.

For novice users it is recommended to select one of the default iPod profiles:

- Apple iPod - (H.264, 320*240)

- Apple iPod - (H.264, 640*480)

- Apple iPod - (MPEG4, 320*240)

You can also click Edit Profile button to manually set the iPod profile parameters.

Step 4: Set up a proper video output file path. Click the Browse... button next to the Output File Name field and select a location on your HDD for the output video file. Note: when you select a location for your output video file, you should save the file to your personal computer HDD.

Step 5: Convert your DVD files. After you have set up all the conversion parameters, hit the Convert Now! button to start converting. You can visually judge the DVD conversion process if you hit the Advanced button. The result of the conversion should be a video file with .m4v extension that can be transferred to your iPod with the help of the Uploader service. It will be launched automatically when the conversion process is over.

Step 6: Transfer the converted video file to Apple iPod. Connect your iPod to your computer with the help of a cable. Turn on the iPod. The Uploader service application will be launched to guide you through the upload process so that you could send your converted video file to your Apple iPod with no difficulty.

If the Apple iPod is not displayed in the Uploader window you should press the Find Devices button to search for your iPod.

When you click the Upload button the upload process itself will take place. It will take some time depending on the output video file size.

Now you can enjoy your favorite home video DVD and video files on your iPod!

What Is the Optimum Video Format for the iPad?

0
Apple's iPad devices support three different video formats.

Flag this photo

Apple's iPad tabled device is a portable media center that lets you listen to music, view pictures and watch movies while on the go. The iPad supports three video formats, each of which is fairly comparable to the others. There are slight advantages to the different formats, however, meaning that the optimum video format for the iPad depends largely on your needs.

Related Searches: H.264

The iPad supports the H.264 video compression format. This format allows for full 1080p high-definition video at 30 frames per second and High Profile 4.1 160 Kbps AAC-LC audio or 48kHz stereo audio. This format produces the the best video quality and sound quality, but it is also the largest of the three supported formats.

MPEG-4

The iPad also supports the MPEG-4 video compression format. This format allows for 480p standard-definition video at 30 frames per second and Simple Profile 160Kbps AAC-LC audio or 48kHz stereo audio. This profile gives priority to the videos frame-rate, sacrificing image quality in the process if necessary. This format produces files that are smaller than the H.264 and Motion JPEG formats, making it desirable when storage space is low.

Motion JPEG

The third iPad-supported video compression format is the Motion JPEG format. This format allows for 720p high-definition video at 30 frames per second and PCM stereo audio. This profile gives priority to image resolution, sacrificing frame-rate in the process if necessary. This format produces files that are smaller than H.264 files but larger than MPEG-4 files, making it desirable when you want to save space without sacrificing much image quality.

Conversion Software

A number of applications can convert your video files into the optimum format for your needs. IPad Video converter can convert a number of video formats into H.264 or MPEG-4 format, VIdeora can convert videos into H.264 or MPEG-4 format, and Power Video Converter can convert videos into H.264, MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG format.
