You can disassemble the Home button assembly and disconnect the cable to attempt to repair or replace it. However, doing so will negate the warranty and you will be responsible for paying the costs of any damage you cause.

Turn off the phone. Remove the SIM card from the bottom of the phone.

Remove the two Phillips head screws on the sides of the SIM card dock. Place the tip of the Flathead screwdriver in the space above the SIM card dock and gently twist it to pry the faceplate from the rest of the phone.

Disconnect the three ribbon wires connecting the screen, camera and receiver to the motherboard to fully remove the faceplate.

Disconnect the ribbon cable that connects the speaker assembly to the motherboard and remove the screw underneath it.

Pull the speaker assembly out of the phone. The home button is on the front of the assembly.

Pry the gold connector away from the circuit board with the Flathead screwdriver to disconnect and remove it.
