Play in the state high school football playoffs. When you first create your player, the game puts you in the high school playoffs. If you want, you can skip through games to go straight to college. The better you play in the playoffs, the higher your player's starting attributes will be. If you aren't satisfied with your starting attributes after the playoffs, restart. The more you play, the better you will get at your position.
2Go through the practice events during the season. During practice, you play in position-specific drills and scrimmages. The better you do in practice, the higher your attributes get. Once you become a starter for the team, practice no longer raises your player's attributes.
3Pick your school wisely, according to how you want your player to develop. If you go to a big conference school, you will not get as much playing time as you would at a smaller school. If you choose a school that is deep at your position, you will have more competition for playing time.
4Play every play during the game that you can. If the coach puts you in the game, you control your player. If you don't like the play, or just don't want to play right then, you can press the "Triangle" button to skip the play. Playing every down allows you to get better at the game and have the chance to raise your player's stats. After every season, the game raises your attributes based on the stats that you accumulate during the season.
